The fifth edition of the Basketball Africa League (BAL) kicks off on April 5 in Rabat, Morocco. Twelve teams, including six first-time participants, are grouped into three conferences: Kalahari, Sahara and Nile. In each of them, the groups meet twice. The finals will be played in June in Pretoria, South Africa, with the top eight teams.
