Apprentice cheesemakers and refugees
Switzerland produces nearly 800 varieties of cheese but behind this very Swiss symbol lies a complex reality. Unsocial hours and arduous working conditions are discouraging youngsters from joining the dairy industry. Today, cheese producers are recruiting asylum seekers, including those from Eritrea and Guinea, who become apprentice cheesemakers.
