Samar Yazbek, DuOud (Smadj, Mehdi Haddab), Issam Kamal

She chose literature to expose the unspeakable and the tragic. For a decade, Samar Yazbek has lived far from her native Syria, where she documented the first hours of the 2011 revolution. "La Demeure du Vent" (The Wind's Abode), published by Stock, recounts the story of a soldier in the Syrian army as he looks back at different periods in his life.

After "Casa-Paris", a duet with Alice Cat Designer, Issam Kamal releases "Le Fond", the single in French he had been dreaming of for so long. After Morocco, where he popularised his Metiss'Pop style as leader of the group Mazagan, he has now set out to conquer the French language market. On 5 February 2023, he will be revealing excerpts from his album in preparation on the stage of the Apollo Theatre, Paris.

Montreal, Lisbon, Paris... DuOud, also known as Smadj and Mehdi Haddab, pioneers of oud electro-rock, electrified the New Morning. Their latest album, "Menshen", blends North African, Western and Far Eastern influences. "Menshen" refers to the door gods that protect the entrance to the home in traditional Chinese culture, an unforgettable memory of their tour in China.
