The Morocco of his parents, the Côte d'Ivoire where he grew up, memories of his tours in Cameroon, Gabon, the DRC... Oualas reveals a very personal world in his show "Dans la Tête de Oualas" (Inside the Head of Oualas), to discover on stage on 20 January 2023 at Le République, Paris, and in the capital cities of Africa during the L'Afrique du Rire comedy festival.
On 11 September 1995, above our heads Soyuz was no longer responding. An event experienced by a child, in his mother's womb. Years later, in a hospital near Tel-Aviv, Tom has become a psychiatrist, specialising in research into the inaudible. Hephraïm Steiner and Roshan are amongst his patients. With "La Nuit est mon Jour Préféré" (Night is my Favourite Day), published by Actes Sud, Cécile Ladjali offers a veritable hymn to the love of others.
His fables for young and old have travelled down the centuries. Jean de la Fontaine took his inspiration from Ibn al-Muqaffa, an Iranian living in the 8th century, with the "Kalila wa-Dimna" texts, themselves taken from the "Panchatantra". In 1835 a French diplomat had the crazy idea of having the famous texts illustrated by artists from all around the world. This little-known treasure, conserved at the Jean de la Fontaine museum, can be explored in "Les Fables de La Fontaine en Orients", published by Orients. Explanations with Ysabel Saïah Baudis.
Embroidery, painting, ceramics, bronze: Ghada Amer's work knows no boundaries. Having travelled through Egypt, France and the USA, the artist questions the way domination is represented and played out. Until April 2023, her work is on display in a retrospective exhibition at the Mucem. Pascale Achard and Agnès Nabat met her in Marseille.
