A young artist agrees to alter her name on her letterbox in order to have somewhere to live in Paris. A change of identity that takes her back to the secret surrounding her parents' deaths. A family story that happened in 1992 during the terrorist attack at Algiers Airport, and that inspired director Nora Hamdi for her film "La Couleur dans les Mains" (Colour in the Hands).

In Casablanca, Morocco, three women have the police on their tail. It's the beginning of a long chase through the red rocks and flower-filled valleys of the Atlas Mountains, all the way to the shores of the Atlantic. "Queens" is the first feature-length film by Yasmine Benkiran, screened in 2022 as the closing film for International Critics' Week at the Venice Film Festival.

Pop, R&B, jazz, soul, gnaoua and afropop all form part of her eclectic style. Based in Montreal, Nora Toutain has a gift for filling her audiences with emotion. She is equally at home at the Montreal International Jazz Festival, the jazz clubs of Rabat and the Espace Magh cultural centre in Brussels. Her latest album "Better Days" was released in November 2023. She will be performing at the FGO-Barbara, Paris, on 13 May 2024.

Morocco will be in the spotlight at the 12th Kyotographie international photography festival in Japan. Amongst the guest artists, Yassine Alaoui Ismaili (@yoriyas on Instagram) presents the exhibition "Casablanca Not the Movie" along with the works created during her residence in the former Japanese imperial city in November 2023.
