"Le Prophète" (The Prophet), by Khalil Gibran, is 100 years old. Since being published, this book of philosophical tales has been translated into forty languages with millions of copies sold. Daughter of Lebanon and an exile like Khalil Gibran, author, graphic novelist and illustrator Zeina Abirached has transformed it into a graphic novel, published by Seghers.
"Du Liban au Monde" (From Lebanon to the World): the name chosen by pianist Aleph for his latest show. Accompanied by his orchestra he combines the musical heritage of Lebanon with influences garnered from around the world. After Canada and Spain, he is currently touring France, the Netherlands and Switzerland. Flamenco, jazz and tango, mixed with the sounds of Tunis and Egypt, Aleph knows no boundaries.
How to live together but differently, and overcome the desire to withdraw into ourselves. novelist and anthropologist, Yara El Ghadban, author of the novel "Je Suis Ariel Sharon" and the essay "Les Racistes n'ont Jamais vu la Mer" (Racists Have Never Seen the Sea), written jointly with Rodney Saint-Éloi, is at the head of the Espace de la Diversité, in Montreal, fighting racism and exclusion through literature to encourage a new approach to our relationship with others, and break down the barriers between cultures and communities.
With an unfailing sense of repartee and a keenly honed view of the world, Mehdi Bousaidan returns with a new show entitled "Mouton" (Sheep) currently touring France. The humorist from Montreal is live on stage at the Sacré Comédie, Paris, from 13 October. In 2024, he will be back in Quebec for a major tour.
