Jeannette Bougrab, Arthur Mettetal, Ammar Abd Rabbo
Six years of war, more than 100,000 dead, a million displaced people... For the United Nations, the worst humanitarian crisis is currently being played out in Yemen. Its agency, the World Food Programme (WFP), 2020 Nobel Peace Prize, even talks about ten million people being in a situation of acute food insecurity. In "Un Silence de Mort" (A Deathly Silence), published by Cerf, the former French minister Jeannette Bougrab denounces the general indifference to this war without end.
Three days after the explosion in the port of Beirut on 4 August 2020, Ammar Abd Rabbo immortalised scenes worthy of a science fiction film. In his exhibition "To Beirut" (showing until 12 November 2020 at the Ayyam Gallery in Dubai), the photojournalist reveals not only the scars left by the catastrophe. Three-quarters of the profits will go to the Lebanese NGO Beit Baraka, helping the victims of the Beirut disaster.
The Orient Express, a legendary train, created a veritable diplomatic and economic tour de force on its creation in 1883. The book by the historian Arthur Mettetal (in collaboration with Eva Gravayat) "Orient-Express & Co", published by Textuel, pays tribute to the train of kings and king of trains, with archive photographs that are published for the first time.
