His Jewish childhood in Constantine in "Les Clés retrouvées" (Keys Rediscovered), his activities as a left-wing militant in "La Dernière Génération d'octobre" (The Last Generation of October), his commitment to memory in "Les Guerres sans fin" (The Wars Without End)... Six works by the historian Benjamin Stora have just been republished by Robert Laffont in the Bouquins collection, under the title "Une memoire algérienne" (An Algerian Memory). An opportunity to shed light on the debates that remain just as intense, fifty-eight years after the independence of Algeria.
"Madabya" (If Only), an extract from the album "Dima Labass" by Jihane Bougrine, released in June 2020, is a hymn to love, respect and difference. The video clip highlights the personalities, artists and singers, locked-down in Casablanca, Fez, Paris and Beirut.
The Lebanese diaspora comes to the rescue of their compatriots, suffering from the economic crisis that has hit Lebanon. Thanks to the Musica Sawa initiative, by Alia Atieh, funds are currently being collected for the NGO Beit el-Baraka and the Saint-Vincent-de Paul school. Artists such as the group Mashrou' Leila, the illustrator Zeina Abirached and the dancer and choreographer Alexandre Paulikevitch are presenting performances on Instagram and Facebook that have never been seen before. A unique means of sending a message of hope to the Lebanese people.
