Martel, the rich flavours of winter

Martel, mediaeval town in the Haut Quercy where the Limousin meets the Périgord. A crossroads that meant, from the early 12th century onwards, it became a wealthy commercial centre. The town has retained all its aura of yesteryear, not only thanks to its know-how but also to its natural heritage.

Ténarèze, land of Armagnac

Sophie Jovillard meets Rémi, the owner, with his family, of the Domaine de Lassalle-Baqué. A terroir in the heart of Gascony, set amidst the rolling hillsides of Ténarèze in the Gers. In this special little corner of south-west France they continue to cultivate the age-old know-how of making Armagnac.
