One hundred and sixty years ago, after the abolition of slavery, Africans known as "Kongos", were used as forced labour on West Indian plantations. Living in appalling conditions these immigrants are totally absent from official history. Today, in Martinique and Guadeloupe, their descendents work to restore their memory.
