Monsieur Jourdain, a wealthy tradesman totally lacking in any of the social graces, hopes to become a man of quality by taking private lessons. Dreaming of joining the nobility, he courts Dorimène, a marchioness and already married! It's also unthinkable for his daughter Lucile to marry Cléonte: who isn't noble!
